Austrian Dr. Veronika Wright holds a degree in technical physics and is an enthusiastic e-car hobbyist. In addition to her consulting job for automotive companies, she is working on an ambitious project with her husband: She wants to turn her combustion vehicle - a 1999 Jeep Wrangler - into a real e-car. And in the process, the two want to do literally everything themselves: From flexing the chassis, planning and realizing the electrics, calibration, everything to do with the drive batteries, the control system, the transmission, installing the motor - simply everything!
At the beginning of the conversion, however, she imagined some steps differently: Cooling the battery, for example, was apparently more difficult than first suspected. And the onboard communication system (electrical system) was not easy either. As a battery expert, however, the installation of the used NMC cells was less problematic for Ms. Wright. The cells (from a crashed vehicle) for the three new battery modules were removed, tested, reconnected and re-installed by her own hands. Now all that's missing (soon) is TÜV, and then it's off on its maiden voyage! At the turn of the year, Dr. Veronika Wright and her husband would like to complete the Jeep.
