How climate-friendly are e-cars really? And is their carbon footprint really that much better than that of gasoline or diesel vehicles? The discussions about this are not only taking place among experts, but also in many families or at regulars' tables. A new, large-scale study by the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich now shows that the total lifecycle emissions of passenger cars can be reduced by up to 89% through the electrification of vehicles. Gasoline and diesel vehicles have the highest amount of greenhouse gas emissions in comparison. The makers of the study, Johannes Buberger and Dr. Manuel Kuder, explain in the podcast which vehicles were included in the comparison, which vehicle classes are the most climate-friendly, and which parameters were included in the comparison in the first place.
