Second „Battery Round Table“ in Stuttgart

The Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism and the Ministry of Science, Research and Art, together with the state agency e-mobil BW, held a top-level discussion within the format "Battery Round Table". Leading representatives from industry and science as well as from the State of Baden-Württemberg discussed current trends and challenges in the battery industry and the strategic developments emerging.

Following a talk by Franz Loogen, President of e-mobil BW on the current economic situation oft he battery industry, CELEST member and Research Field 2 representative Prof. Dr. Birgit Esser gave a short overview on latest developments in battery research and upcoming projects of the research platform. Furthermore, Manager of CELEST Dr. Stephan Hensel presented results of a previously held joint workshop focusing on „Future Skills for the Battery Industry“ organized by Cluster Electric Mobility South-West c/o e-mobil BW GmbH & CELEST - Center for Electrochemical Energy Storage | Ulm & Karlsruhe which took place during the Battery Show Europe in Stuttgart. The results of the workshop confirmed, that graduate training across the entire spectrum of electrochemical energy storage is an important factor for the development of the battery ecosystem which was also a major topic during the Battery Round Table discussions.
